I shall now spout my opinion of this book onto the Internet...but first, a few things:
1. How is this a SIGH? She was almost as crazy as the first book until the end!
2. KOIZUMI FOREVER! I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU SAY ASAHINA!
And um...I think that's it. So, of course, Cami knows more than me, this is just what I think happened. It was a good book, of course, though a little confusing at times...not as confusing as the first one. Not by a long shot...I think this is one that had "character development"? I noticed.
Kyon: I like Kyon, though he starts to annoy me at times...I saw him grow in this book though because he was driven so far that he broke and then was forced to make amends. And he learned from it. Especially about his relationship with Haruhi. Also, HE CALLED IT INNER-MONOLOGUING TWICE. Even HE admits it!
Nagato: I loved Nagato the most, I think, in this book if I'm honest. She usually gives the most straigh-forward answers I can understand (sorry Koizumi! You just get off-topic really easily and your speeches are really, really long!) and is just the most awesome in particular. I think her changing into that costume had some deeper meaning, but I didn't catch it. The thing I saw with her was admitting that she was wrong to act so rashly, which was weird because she usually knows everything. You go Nagato! You have yet to annoy me!
Haruhi: I'm beginning to like her more. Honestly, at the beginning of the book, I was ready to rip my hair out. She was just SO crazy and we have yet to find a straight-forward answer behind that, other than that's just how she is. But I can see her developing through Kyon a little bit more, maybe calming down a little. I was happy with her in this book. ^^
Asahina: Ugh...I just...I don't know what to say about her. She kind of annoys me. I really don't see anything to her character at all. I mean, maybe she could be considered brave, or strong but...I just don't see anything there! I can't hate her because, yeah, she's tortured but that seems all there is to her. Please correct me Cami and point out the obvious thing I'm missing but...I don't know. I just can't say I like her in anyway. Also, I'm kind of annoyed at her at the moment. HOW DARE YOU DOUBT HIM??? Ergh...especially when her side of the argument has no proof either! Besides, he always says "THIS IS MY THEORY." He doesn't say, "Hey Kyon, this is what you have to believe no matter what!" (Like Kyon would listen). Her theory is easier to understand, but I honestly think, in the space of this book Koizumi's makes more sense. Whatever...I'll just go stand by Nagato, she's the rational one.
And, of course, Koizumi: Obviously, yes, I love him, but yeah...he was sort of kind of getting to me a little by the end. Probably because his speeches with Kyon kind of confused me a lot. He also seemed weird for a while, then I realized what had happened-HE ACTUALLY HAD AN OPINION. I was so shocked, but I'm not even kidding. I was not used to that at all...also, I think one thing about this book, all the characters showed weakness at one point or another (like, for example: Asahina. All the time. Every time. And Nagato, once). I think that's interesting. He was tired from all the stuff he had to do (I'm guessing that included trying to inform Kyon of what was going on) and, of course, he ended up dumping it all on Kyon. Sorry, Kyon. Maybe if you didn't rag on him so much I'd feel worse about that, but your the only one she'll listen to...
And...yes. That is it, I think. OH WAIT! That one girl! Whose name I can't pronounce! Or spell! Tsuruyah? Something like that? She annoys the heck out of me. I know I kind of have some stuff against Asahina, but...why does she enjoy her pain so much? She's not a friend at all! That's where I feel bad for Asahina. Her laugh is annoying and she laughs at everything. Cami said that's the point. Well, I'm going to have to tell the point where to jump off a cliff! And take her with it! I can't stand her. I hope she goes away. Sadly, I don't think that's going to happen. Argh....
I could see everyone's point of view in this book and keep switching sides on things. Besides Nagato. I always can be on her side because she's right. Other times, I'll switch around. Oh, that's another thing! Kyon. You can't be with Asahina. She's from the future. You will never stop fawning after her though, so, oh well. Good luck with that. Don't you want to listen to Big Asahina? "Don't get too close to me"? Does that not register in your brain? *sigh*
Finally, this book pointed out something good (I say so grudgingly...) We have no proof that any of these characters are telling the truth. That shocked me, but it's true. Great. Now I'm suspicious. But still...Nagato? Lying? No way. I can't see that. Koizumi can't keep up a joke to save his life and, though I think it would be hilarious, I sincerely doubt Asahina is acting.
Still, though, good point.
What's next Cami?

Haruhi: Well, I've just excepted that's how she is and learned to expect it. I just have different standards for her.
ReplyDeleteKyon: Oh, Kyon. He does have his own charm. I love him, in his own way.
Asahina: ...great. We'll see. Maybe I'm looking too deep. Maybe she's just the simple character in the series. Eh, well, still not the biggest fan. Haruhi shouldn't hurt her though. That's not right.
Nagato: GO NAGATO!
Koizumi: Eh. Still love him because a) he's the only one bothering to explain things and b) he lightens the mood.
Tsuruya: She doesn't lighten it for me. In fact, she brings it down. I'd rather have Kyon inner-monologue for the rest of the book than have her in it. I'd rather see him insult Koizumi and fawn over Asahina. I just don't like her. Let's agree to disagree for now eh?
I'll probably be down with this next chappy by tomorrow, BTW. ^^
