I sent a description of them to Jen, my general advisor at the time. This is how I introduced them in my story:
"They had a heavy British accent and, were, what looked like, identical twins. Either that or they had totally planned exactly what they were going to wear that day and looked exactly alike besides the fact, which would just be weirder. But then again, I'd learned not to doubt these things. I could see no difference what so ever in the two boys.
They were both tall, wearing khaki shorts, bright blue dress shirts, and striped black and white ties hanging loosely, half-tied carelessly around their necks. Their hair was bright red and I wasn't exactly sure how to describe it…Half of it was sticking up in perfect order like it had been gelled and the other half was a complete mess, somewhere in between curls and just a plain flop that fell in front of their left eyes. Kind of a like a backwards mullet, only not. (Note to self: Don't become a hair-describer person.)
"I'm Till," said the twin on the left, smiling.
"And I'm Wrevor," said the other, also grinning so that both of them were now wearing this creepy identical grin, somewhere in between welcoming and kind and how a cat looks at an interesting new toy. I raised my eyebrows in confusion at their back and forth speaking."
Right? So, yeah. Then she sent me this:
Insert facepalm here (okay, my stupid font is misbehaving...whatever...).
Yeah, introduction: Hikaru and Kaoru. (Long story, ask Cami)
Actually, they're not the same in some ways, but they kind of are in others. And it's a little awkard. I swear I knew NOTHING about them at the time but I swear ONLY I could "create" people who were almost exactly like someone else.
Yeah, they're different. But they're also the same, a little. Yes, well.
